GARY WEINSTEIN
Gary Weinstein has extensive experience identifying and mitigating enterprise-wide business and legal risks, having served as Senior Vice President, Deputy General Counsel & Chief Privacy Officer for a national consumer financial services company. Gary managed the litigation and regulatory compliance for the company and led the government affairs program working with Federal and State agency directors, and the U.S. Congress, to facilitate company and industry best practices. Gary also served on the Board of Directors of a §501(c)(6) nationwide trade association, shaping Federal and State public policy to advance taxpayer rights.
As a former regulator (New York State Assistant Attorney General), Gary investigated and prosecuted antitrust matters, including horizontal price-fixing conspiracies, vertical restraints, monopolization, and illegal boycotts.
In the cannabis industry, as lead counsel for The Last Prisoner Project, Gary filed an amicus brief in the Supreme Court of the United States in a landmark marijuana federal legality case to declare the federal criminalization of marijuana unconstitutional.
The Mayor of Hoboken, New Jersey, appointed Gary to serve as a member of the City of Hoboken Cannabis Review Board (an advisory committee to the City of Hoboken). And Gary is a member of the
International Cannabis Bar Association Legislative Advisement Committee. He also authored an article about the federal/state contradictions in the cannabis industry in the leading business-to-business magazine, Marijuana Venture.
Finally, Gary served as Advisory Board Chair for a start-up company, guiding the CEO with strategies to advance patent-pending internet-connected locker solutions for secure, compliant, and traceable
intrastate cannabis last-mile delivery.
Gary received his Bachelor of Science from Cornell University and his Juris Doctor from Syracuse University College of Law.
